A CAMP FOR KIDS WITH SPECIAL HEARTS
Here for kids and families!
Camp Oki is Canada's first summer camp for children with heart disease. Camp Oki provides a safe and inclusive overnight camp opportunity for children who are often "shut out" of mainstream summer camping programs because of misinformation and lack of confidence on the part of camps, parents and patients. Whether you have already been to summer camp or haven’t tried it yet, Camp OKI is for you.
How we do it
Camp OKI is grateful for the ongoing support of our volunteer community, and our donors. To get involved or to donate, click our "Get Involved" and "Donate" tabs.
In the industry
Camp OKI is an accredited member of the Ontario Camps Association (OCA), and Canada's premier cardiac camp.
Dear Camp Oki – on behalf of the Camp Oki Board and Medical Team, I hope this message finds all of
you safe and well in these remarkable and challenging times. We miss all of you, and we know that it’s
hard to be away from your school, friends, and favourite activities, and not knowing how long this will all
last. Sort of like being in Hospital, which I hope none of you are right now. We know how important
Camp Oki is to you, and this is a good opportunity to remind you how important you and your families
are to us.
On Thursday, our host site Camp Ooch announced that they have made the difficult decision to suspend
their traditional camp programs for Summer 2020, which includes Camp Oki week at Ooch Muskoka.
The Board and Medical Team fully support Ooch’s decision - like Camp Ooch, Camp Oki has a long
history of safely and successfully delivering a summer camp program to children with medical
challenges. Given that there is still so much unknown about how this pandemic will develop and affect
our ability to offer our program, Camp Oki 2020 has been cancelled.
Like all of you, the Camp Oki team looks forward to our time together, and we are just as disappointed
as you are. Please #StayHome, #WashYourHands, and #StaySafe!
Dr. Joel, and Director Rachael
